Tuberculosis Test Compliance Rules

Tuberculosis Test Compliance Rules allow you to require that a participant report a Tuberculosis test result in TrackMy. That Tuberculosis Test rule type has a unique rule wizard to support the requirements for Tuberculosis testing.

If you do not see the buttons described here, contact your TrackMy Client Success team to be granted the necessary admin permissions.

Create a Tuberculosis Test Rule

  1. In your admin/clinical portal, go to Manage Compliance:

The following describes each configuration option in the Tuberculosis Test Compliance Rule Wizard.

Participant Groups

Does this rule apply to a specific group?

No: The compliance requirement is not limited to a user group and will apply to all users.

Yes: The compliance requirement will only apply to users in the select user group(s).

  • You must select at least one user group to which the rule applies.

Test Status

Is the user compliant upon submitting the test?

No: A test record must have the Validated status to be compliant.

Yes: Users can meet compliance requirements upon submitting the form, even if the self-reported test is pending.

Test Result

Is a specific result required to meet compliance?

No: The result of the test is not considered for compliance.

Yes: The test record must have the selected result to be compliant.

Multiple Tests

Are multiple tests required to meet compliance?

No: The user can be compliant after submitting one test record.

Yes: The user must complete the required tests within the specified period.

Example: 2 tests that meet the compliance requirements must be completed no more than 5 days apart.

Test Age Limit

Does the test need to be completed within a specified time period?

No: The test record can be compliant with any date.

Yes: Defines a time frame that the test must have been resulted in to be compliant. This is only evaluated at the time the test record is created. This is measured by either:

  • Maximum number of days old - Defines how old the test can be on the day of submission.

Example: The test(s) must have been completed within the last 365 days.

  • A cutoff date - Defines a date after which the test must be completed.

Example: The test(s) must be completed after 2/01/2025.

Test Renewal

Will the user be required to submit the test on a recurring basis to maintain compliance?

No: The user will not have to submit a new test submission later to maintain compliance.

Yes:

When will the user be required to submit new test results?

  • On a set date - A date after which all users will no longer be compliant (i.e. Jan 31st every year). The users must submit new test results after that date to be compliant again.

Example: All users in the Past TB-Positive user group must complete a new Tuberculosis X-RAY after Feb 1st to maintain compliance. This automates the organization’s annual Tuberculosis X-RAY requirements.

  • When the test submission record reaches a certain age - Each user will no longer meet compliance once their test submission is older than the accepted age.

If there is one test type selected for the Tuberculosis Test rule, you will go to the rule confirmation screen after defining the requirements for the test type. Otherwise, you will define requirements for the additional test types.

Triggering events for Tuberculosis Test Compliance Rules

The only way for a participant to become compliant is to submit the required test type. There are no accommodations, declinations, or other alternatives for the user to submit.

The following events will trigger a Tuberculosis Test to be evaluated for compliance:

  • Tuberculosis test is submitted by participant

  • Status change

    • Admin updates Tuberculosis test status to Validated after review

  • Tuberculosis test is submitted by a clinician for the participant (via SFP test workflow)

Lab Test status and compliance

Due to the ability to set a default status for a test submission within Configure Test Types, and the ability to set the required status in the Rule Wizard, it is important to understand how the two settings work together.

When a user will immediately be compliant upon submitting the test

  • Test default status is set to Pending + Rule Wizard is set to accept Pending status

  • Test default status is set to Validated + Rule Wizard is set to require Validated status

  • Test default status is set to Validated + Rule Wizard is set to accept Pending status

When a user will remain not compliant until after form review

  • Test default status is set to Pending + Rule Wizard is set to require Validated status
