Manage Tests

This page describes how to configure Test Types in TMV.

The Configure Test Types page is split into two lists: Internal Test Types (tests documented directly in TMV, either self-reported by a patient or documented by a clinician) and External Test Types (tests that come from a connected external lab partner). This guide covers Internal Test Types, which is where most client configuration happens.

Enable an Internal Test Type

Internal test types are provided from TrackMy's global test catalog. To make one available for your organization to report results for in TrackMy:

  1. In your TrackMy clinical/admin portal, go to the Manage Tests tile.

  2. Click Manage for Test Types — the page will open automatically on the Internal Test Types tab.

  3. Find the test type in the list (organized by category, then alphabetically) and turn on the Enabled toggle.

    1. Optional — enable Patient Visible or Allow Self Attestation. See below.

  4. Click Edit for the test type to configure its settings (see below).

If a test type you need isn't in the list, contact your TrackMy Client Success team.

Edit an Internal Test Type

Click Edit for a test type to configure:

  • Allow Patient Upload: Whether a patient can, or must, upload a supporting document when self-reporting this test. An upload is required to view the reported result in the Lab Tests review queue.

  • Default status: Whether a self-reported submission for this test type can save directly as Validated, or must start as Pending for your team to review.

If the default status is Pending, the patient user must be required to upload documentation with their test result. Otherwise, the test record will not display in the Lab Tests review queue.

  • Available Results Options: Choose exactly which results (e.g. Positive, Negative, Reactive, Nonreactive, Normal, Abnormal, etc) can be selected when someone reports a result for this test type. If you don't make a selection, the default result options will be available.

The Test Name/Description and Vaccine Link fields that used to appear here have moved. Test naming is now managed centrally by TrackMy as part of the global test catalog, and vaccine linkage is now configured per-result rather than per-test-type. If you need either updated, contact your TrackMy Client Success team.

Other configurations

For each Internal Test Type, there are additional toggles in the Manage Tests UI that allow you to control whether patient users can submit results for the test type.

Patient Visible

On: Both patient and clinical users will see the test type in the list of test types they can select to report results for.

Off: Patient users will not be able to self-report results for this test type. Only clinical users will be able to select the test type to report results for.

Allow Self Attestation

On: When self reporting a test, patient users will be required to enter the result of the test.

Off: When self reporting a test, patient users will not be able to report the result of the test. The reviewer will enter the result of the test after validating the self-reported test.

Disable an Internal Test Type

The following steps will no longer allow either patient or clinical users to report results for the test type in TMV.

  1. In your TrackMy clinical/admin portal, go to the Manage Tests tile.

  2. Click Manage for Test Types, then select the Internal Test Types tab.

  3. For the test type, turn off the Enabled toggle.

External Test Types

The External Test Types tab shows every test type available through a lab partner your organization is connected to. This list is view-only — there's no Edit option here, since these tests and their results are defined by the lab partner. If you need a change made to an external test type, contact your TrackMy Client Success team.
